Parent Curriculum Meetings - English

3.15 to 4pm, then repeated at 4.00 to 4.45pm

We have not run curriculum meetings for parents since the pandemic, and we are pleased to be able to launch these again this term. The aim of the sessions is to give you information about our approach to teaching key aspects of the curriculum and for you to have the chance to ask questions. We are well aware that teaching methods have changed over the years, and this can leave families feeling uncertain about how to support learning at home.
The briefings will be run twice so that you can attend more than one if you have children in more than one age group. The timings will be from 3.15pm to 4.00pm and then repeated from 4.00pm to 4.45pm
The first of these meetings will be on Thursday 2nd February and the key focus will be English. This will focus on phonics and reading in Nursery/ Reception and KS1 and reading comprehension in KS2. There is no need to book a place, just come along to the classrooms at the times shown and join the relevant group.

Nursery and Reception Reception Classrooms
Year One Rose Classroom
Year Two Tulip Classroom
Year Three/ Four Buttercup Classroom
Year Five/ Six Bluebell Classroom

We did have a second date planned to cover maths, but have postponed this due to the potential teacher strikes. This will be rescheduled later in the year. In the past, parents have said they found these sessions really useful, so
I’d be pleased to hear from you about whether you find the same.
